Bespoke Curtains Handmade in Yorkshire
Made-to-measure curtains are a speciality of Vanilla Interiors. Every pair is individually handmade by our experienced seamstresses in our own Tadcaster workroom, using carefully selected designer fabrics.
We create bespoke curtains for homes across Yorkshire, including York, Harrogate, Wetherby and the Leeds area. Each pair is made to suit the windows, the room and the customer’s individual preferences.
Curtain Headings and Finishing Details
The choice of curtain heading can make a considerable difference to the finished appearance. We offer a range of styles, including traditional pencil pleats, tailored pinch pleats, eyelets and contemporary wave headings. We can also create more elaborate designs, including swags and tails.
Linings are equally important. Depending on the fabric and the room, we can recommend standard or blackout linings, while interlining can provide additional body and a more luxurious appearance.
Our seamstresses also pay particular attention to pattern matching and the way the fabric hangs. These finishing details help give handmade curtains their distinctive appearance.
From Choosing Your Fabric to the Perfect Fit
We recommend starting with a visit to our Tadcaster showroom, where you can explore thousands of designer fabric samples and discuss your ideas with our experienced team. With so much choice available, visiting us allows you to see and feel fabrics that we simply couldn’t bring to a home appointment.
If you bring along approximate window measurements, we can usually provide an initial quotation. This helps you understand the likely cost before taking the next step.
During your showroom visit, we’ll also help you choose the finer details, including curtain headings, linings, tracks and poles, ensuring everything works together beautifully.
Once you’re happy with your choices and the estimated cost, we’ll arrange a home visit to take accurate measurements. We prefer to measure ourselves so that we can take responsibility for achieving the correct fit.
Your curtains are then handmade in our own Yorkshire workroom before being professionally fitted in your home.
Motorised Made-to-Measure Curtains
Motorised curtains combine the appearance of beautifully made bespoke curtains with convenient, effortless operation. They work particularly well with large windows and wide curtain spans. In addition, motorisation can make curtains much easier to operate.
A mains power supply isn’t essential. For example, rechargeable curtain motors provide a convenient alternative and are our most popular option. This means you don’t need a permanent electrical supply at the window.
